| Terrorism. What does it mean? It's everywhere in the media today, and it seems to be the cause of several raging wars.
ter·ror·ism ( P ) Pronunciation Key (t r -r z m)
n. - The
unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an
organized group against people or property with the intention of
intimidating or coercing societies or
governments, often for ideological or political reasons.
So, America has given Israel permission to "defend itself by any means necessary" and "act against terrorists groups such as Hezzbollah. Is this how they're so supposed to act?

Terrorists are out there to intimidate. To kill without thought. How is what Israel's doing any different? With this kind of support from America, Isreal to me seems to be developing a mindset that they can control how people think, to instill fear among others. It's true that Hezzbollah captured two Israeli soldiers, yet the retalliation has killed more. In Lebanon, 70+ people were killed by Israeli airstrikes, and more remain wounded.
Why are there martyrs? Why is there violence? Why are they fighting? Who's right?
The way I see it, Israel is holding on to a source of power and trying to use it to its advantage. Before the current Israel was established, it was all Palestine. Israel was created as a homeland for the Jewish nation. When you get your land taken away, of course you're going to retalliate. But Israel, backed by America, has superior technology, more advanced funding, and Israel's point of view is more publicly displayed where we live. Every time Palestines attack, it's considered a "terrorist act". When Israelis go on the offensive, it's considered "self-defence". Hammurabi's harsh "eye-for-eye" law doesn't even apply. Now it's an "eye for a life" comparison.
In the end, aren't Israel's attacks just terrorist attacks, except with better technology?
